Thursday, Oct. 13 – Requires separate registration for Team Building Workshop
- 1:30 p.m. – 2 p.m Registration for team building workshop (requires a separate fee for this pre-conference program)
- 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. – SGA Team Building Workshop (for those who registered for the event)
Friday, Oct. 14 -The 44th annual national leadership conference on student government begins
> Conference topics and times may be adjusted based on suggestions from conference participants
> One-on-one sessions may be requested on a first come, first serve basis with presenters during the conference

- 9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. – Conference Registration, Lobby Renaissance Hotel- Airport St. Louis
- 9:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. – Conference Welcome and Keynote
> “Creating a relevant and impactful student government on your campus” - 10 a.m. – 12 noon – Concurrent breakout sessions
> Including sessions for advisers only, “how to” workshops on combating student apathy, implementing a more effective student government, increasing diversity, campus programming ideas that engage, LGBT opportunities, creating a year-long marketing plan and recruiting and retaining student leaders. - 12 noon – 1 p.m. – Lunch (included in conference fee), sweatshirt exchange – please bring at least one shirt per delegate to swap
- 1 p.m – 4:30 p.m. – Concurrent breakout sessions
> Officer roundtables, sharing current SGA structures, motivating yourself and others, delegating tasks, understanding leadership and communication styles; and improving relations with branch campuses, administrators and others of influence. - 4:30-6 p.m. -Next Big Idea
> A very popular all-conference gathering where participants share student driven signature programs on their campus that are making a difference! - Dinner on your own – We will organize an SGA adviser dinner
Saturday, Oct. 15
- 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. – Breakfast (included in conference fee)
- 9-10:30 a.m. – All Conference Address
> “How to have courageous conversations about diversity and inclusion on your campus” - 10:30 a.m. – 12 noon – Concurrent breakout sessions
> Including sessions for advisers only, “how to” workshops on creating a welcoming SGA, improving your political influence, developing a campus culture of care, addressing campus crisis, managing multiple projects to completion and branding of yourself and student government. - 12 noon – 1 p.m. – Lunch (included in conference fee)
- Idea and Materials Exchange – please bring student handbooks, promotional materials, judicial procedures, bookmarkers, calendars, student government constitutions, etc. to share with others
- 1 p.m. -6 p.m. – Concurrent breakout sessions
> Including adviser sessions only, similar size and type of school roundtables – “how to” workshops on handling risk and chaos, the care of student leaders, building effective teams, improving committee work, effective public speaking, judicial branch efficiency and allocating student activity fees fairly - Dinner on your own
- 9 p.m. – All-Conference Talent Show (register your talent at the conference)
Sunday, Oct. 16
- 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. – Breakfast (included in conference fee)
- 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. – Concurrent breakout sessions
> Including sessions for advisers only, addressing the needs of the most vulnerable on your campus, “how to” workshops on building a collaborative and shared student government, improving employment opportunities upon graduation, taking care of yourself, plan effective retreats and transitions, improving relations with campus newspapers, and getting things done - 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – All-Conference town meeting and closing session
